WORKSHOPS - BREAKOUT SESSIONS

- Leadership Workshop -
grades 4-6. Lincoln's principals for leadership. Good for student Government
or adults.
- Period Toy Workshop -
grades 1-6. Simple toys to make, from the Lincoln period.
- Town Meeting - grades 4-8. Period
role - playing interview with the President.
- Handwriting Workshop -
grades 4-6. Practice on slates, with pen and ink, in round hand copy.
- Music of the period -
grades K-4. Klein teaches songs Lincoln knew, with guitar.
- Log Cabin Workshop - grades 1-3.
Together "Lincoln" and the children build a 1/6 scale model of the Lincoln
birthplace – stories.
- Breakfast with the President - grades k-4.
A display, a meal with someone special, and time with the children
individually.

- Lunch with Lincoln - grades 3-8. A
display of artifacts, explanations while the students eat, hands on time
afterwards.
- Honesty Workshop - grades
3-8. Lincoln's principles for honesty and how it effects life.
- Baseball workshop - grades 4-8. Learn
about "Town Ball" or baseball in the 1860's by playing the game with Lincoln
as the umpire. Evaluation session afterwards.
- Press Conference - grades 4-8.
Interview with the President with a view to writing a story. May be
simple or developed into a newspaper.
